Rookie Profile: WR Josh Doctson

When the Redskins snagged Josh Doctson in the first round, everyone was stunned.  The experts had predicted the Redskins would go for a defensive line player, maybe a safety but no one saw a Wide Receiver.  However, after watching film on Doctson, I can definitely see why McCloughan drafted this prospect.

Some reports have him as tall as 6’4″ (although his combine height was only 6’2″), the receiver as a 41″ vertical and ran the 40 in 4.5 seconds.  Those intangibles combined to make Doctson a matchup nightmare.  He holds the TCU school record for touchdown receptions and was a Heisman candidate as a junior.

Below is just one of his highlight videos.  Doctson is a guy who can come in and contribute right away, which is what you want from your first round pick.
